To sign in to MetaTrader 4 (MT4), use the trading-account details provided by RockGlobal. Your RockGlobal Client Portal password may be different from your MT4 trading password.
Before you begin
Have these three details ready:
- MT4 login: your trading account number, not your email address.
- Trading password: the master password for that MT4 account.
- Server: the exact server shown in your RockGlobal account-opening confirmation email or Client Portal.
Sign in on MT4 for desktop
- Open MetaTrader 4.
- Select File → Login to Trade Account.
- Enter your MT4 trading account number in the Login field.
- Enter your MT4 trading password.
- Select the exact server assigned to the account.
- Select Login.
Confirm the connection
- The connection indicator in the lower-right corner shows data activity.
- Prices in Market Watch continue to update.
- Your account information appears in the Trade tab.
If prices do not update or the connection indicator shows no activity, first recheck the selected server and login details.
Trading password and investor password
The trading (master) password allows you to place and manage orders. The investor password is read-only and cannot be used to trade. If you can view the account but cannot place an order, confirm that you are using the trading password.
If you cannot sign in
- Re-enter the account number and password, checking that no extra spaces have been added.
- Confirm that a live account uses its assigned live server and a demo account uses its assigned demo server.
- Make sure you have not used your RockGlobal Client Portal password or investor password by mistake.
- If needed, reset the MT4 password through the RockGlobal Client Portal.
If the issue continues, contact RockGlobal Client Support and provide the MT4 account number, device type, selected server, time of the attempt and a screenshot of the error. Never provide your password.
