The MT4 server connects the platform to your trading account. Even if your account number and password are correct, MT4 cannot connect when the wrong server is selected.
Find the server assigned to your account
Use the exact server shown in your RockGlobal account-opening confirmation email or Client Portal. Live and demo accounts normally use different servers, so do not choose a server simply because its name looks similar.
Select a server in MT4 for desktop
- Open MetaTrader 4.
- Select File → Login to Trade Account.
- Open the server list and select the exact server assigned to the account.
- Enter the MT4 account number and trading password, then select Login.
If the server is not listed
- Select File → Open an Account.
- Select the option to add or search for a broker or server.
- Enter the exact broker name, server name or server address provided by RockGlobal.
- Start the scan and wait for the server to appear.
- Select the server, then choose to connect using an existing trade account.
- Enter the trading account number and trading password.
In the MT4 mobile app
- Open Settings or Manage Accounts.
- Select New Account, then choose to log in to an existing account.
- Search using the broker or server name provided by RockGlobal.
- Select the exact server and enter your MT4 account details.
Important checks
- Live and demo accounts must use their respective assigned servers.
- Copy the server name exactly and do not add spaces.
- Do not replace the assigned server simply because another server shows lower latency.
- A newly opened account must use the server specified in that account’s confirmation email.
If the assigned server still does not appear after scanning, contact RockGlobal Client Support and provide your trading account number and a screenshot of the server list. Do not provide your password.
